The event was designed to provide the opportunity for interaction between international and domestic students, letting them learn about others' cultures and routines. I could interact with participants without disclosing my position, which could create a wall for a friendly discussion. Such interactions for our department's international students with low interaction with the destination's culture and expectations are critical, and I would support continuing to hold such events.
