Red Cross Food Pantry: In April 2007, we observed Immanuel Lutheran and its volunteers host the monthly Red Cross Food Pantry. I photo-documented the event and presented a PowerPoint slide show to Missions Committee, which voted to volunteer FUMC as a host. We hosted the Food Pantry at the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen in May 2007, January and October 2008; and at Immanuel Lutheran in March 2009. Our next Food Pantry event will be in October 2009. United Methodist Committee on Relief. We raise money for all its global efforts, which were heavily strained by Hurricane Katrina and the Indonesian tsunami. Thanksgiving Baskets. Each year, we provide food for 20 area families referred to us by United Way and Eight-Cap and for five church families.
