Served as Secretary for three consecutive years (2017-2020). Actively participated in bi-weekly meetings, including speaker recommendations, logistical planning for events, and various duties while hosting events with Committee colleagues. Led charge to implement theme-based approach to speaker selection; contributed to the revision of Committee’s mission statement; and organized a student-led discussion with Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha. Invited faculty and students affiliated with the following courses to participate in an intimate discussion with Dr. Mona on February 25, 2020: Water Resource Management with Dr. Jena Krause; Environmental Health with Dr. Rebecca Uzarski; Community Health, Public Health Policy; and Introduction to Public Health with Dr. Jodi Brookins Fisher and Dr. Leah Rutkowski. Students and faculty alike provided positive feedback. Committee Charge: (1) To provide an annual speaker series for the campus andcommunity; (2) to coordinate funds from outside sources to supplement the budget; (3) to allocate the available funds and determine the prices of tickets, if applicable, for individual events and for the series; (4) to work with the Director of University Events in scheduling and advertising the events. Business arrangements will be the responsibility of the Director of University Events.
