Vincent G. Whitelock, along with SAP Director, Stephen Tracy, support the students in CBA’s SAP Annual Student User’s Group (ASUG) - Student Mentor - Weekly Wednesday Night Meetings – Approximately 21.0 Hours per Semester – Participated 7 semesters – Frank Andera & Steve Tracy (Fall 2016, Spring 2017, Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2018, Spring 2019; Fall 2019). (7/2) In this capacity, Dr. Whitelock regularly attends the SAP Student User’s Group meetings each Wednesday of each semester. Vincent is the only non-information systems faculty member who regularly participates in the weekly meetings. In this capacity, Vincent encourages the students by explaining integration of business processes, engages with the students to help them understand the challenges of preparing for and taking the TERP10 exam, reviews the students’ resumes and gives them constructive input, and sometimes rewrites the resumes for them. Vincent also engages with the corporate presenters, asks questions of the presenters that would extract key information about their companies, for the benefit of the ASUG members. Vincent also gives student members tips on questions to ask potential employers, and tips on how to help them distinguish themselves in the interviews. Vincent also joins ASUG members and other BIS Instructors on field trips to company headquarters, as with SteelCase, Inc., in Grand Rapids, MI, and The Dow Chemical Company, in Midland, MI. The impact of Vincent participating in these sessions, is that the information system students get to engage with a Management Department faculty member, and get to see first-hand how integrated supply chain management intersects with information systems. Furthermore, Vincent introduces CMU’s capability in integrated supply chain management to the managements at Steelcase and Dow, and how approximately 125 students, per semester, are trained in integration of business processes in a purchasing, operations, and supply chain management context.| Period | Jan 1 2016 → Dec 31 2019 |
