The CMU marketing research core project team consisted of the V/P of University Communications, Heather Smith (UComm), Monica Mull (UComm), and myself. In 2020 Sherry Knight left the team and John Velliux joined the team as the new CMU V/P and Chief Marketing Officer. Together we worked closely with Simpson Scarborough to conduct marketing and branding research.
I worked with the core project team and Simpson Scarborough throughout the almost 2 year process of collecting data and determining CMU's current position in the marketplace. The outcome of this research was to create brand pillars and branding strategies that differentiate CMU in the marketplace. Ultimately Simpson Scarborough and CMU decided on the We Do campaign.
