The ad-hoc Bylaws Revision Committee was tasked to revise the Bylaws regarding changes in the organizational structure of the Mathematics Department. Among the issue discussed on the committee:
Spelling out the duties of Course Coordinators and consider placing time limits on the appointment.Creating an Associate Chairperson position, to replace the Assistant Chairperson.Specifying the chair evaluation processAdding a maximum time allowed to apply for a professor salary adjustment.Modifying the suggestion about soliciting letters from colleagues to support RPT application.Making the “extraordinary” criteria for early tenure/promotion explicit. Adding a statement about diversity to the bylaws in specific locations
The committee produced proposals that were discussed and voted on by the Department in March 2019
