As judge, I coordinated the competition and delivered the questions that the high school students from local schools came to compete to answer in this combined competition/education experience set up by CMU Neuroscience Program faculty and the Central Neuroscience Society as part of an initiative promoted by the Michigan Chapter Society for Neuroscience. I also helped by interacting with the high school students during the laboratory experiences and discussions occurring during the lunch provided.
Over 64 high school students from various local high schools came to this event and experienced a healthy competition regarding their knowledge of neuroscience facts as well as an educational experience to promote neuroscience outreach.
