I served as the School of Music representative on the College of Arts and Media's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. The group, comprising faculty, administrators and students, met to discuss ideas and best practices for keeping with standards of inclusion, increasing and celebrating diversity, and practicing equity in all things at CMU.
The committee was able to develop a series of events at the university, open to the public, that serve to provide context, information and illumination to issues concerning the history and everyday challenges facing people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
