The Interdisciplinary Center for Community Health & Wellness at Central Michigan University is a partnership among CMU’s five academic colleges that works “to stimulate and promote basic and applied research and education about health and wellness for disease prevention, health promotion, health communication, quality of life improvement and related economic benefits for Michigan and beyond.”
In September, 2018, Dean Richard Rothaus asked me to participate in this collaborative as one of our college’s representatives. My research on food insecurity impacts aligns closely with the center’s goal to, “Promote scholarship, interdisciplinary research, service, and applied practice in wellness-related academic disciplines through external partnerships and collaborations.”
