Being the faculty advisor to the National Science Teaching Association student chapter is major service to elementary and secondary preservice students and to TEPD for the following reasons: Attending general membership meeting twice a monthAttending executive board meetings twice a monthHelping students make arrangements for MainStage at the beginning of the academic year so that they can recruit membersWorking with students on conference presentations at NSTA national and area conferences.Procuring College of Education and Human Services Vending funds to support students attending conferences.Procuring SBAC (Student Government) funds to support students attending conferences.Arranging for speakers for general membership meetings.Arranging Family Science Nights at local elementary schoolsAssisting with student fundraisers during the semesterMentoring students in finding employment as elementary and science teachers
