One of three task force members representing the department of Teacher Education and Professional Development (total of 16 people on the task force). Contributed to research on best practices and exemplary programs, particularly involving clinical practices. Reviewed and suggested changes to the task force's final report.
As charged by the dean of CEHS, the 2023 Teacher Preparation Task Force made recommendations for changes in college and university programs, degrees, and curricula so as to reduce student time to graduation while maintaining or improving the quality of teacher education at CMU. Those recommendations were be based on research; best practices; exemplary programs; international, national, and state standards; and CMU mission priorities. Following the presentation of these recommendations, the dean of CEHS established an implementation task force to put them into action.
