This is committee identifies, reviews the accomplishments of, and awards outstanding graduate and undergraduate students studying in programs centered in my college (CEHS; e.g., teacher education). This program originated in my recognition that nothing then existed to recognize exceptional achievements among CEHS students.
With assistance from Holly Hoffman (CEHS faculty then in Special Education) and Jennifer Quick (a CMU adjunct instructor in teacher preparation focusing on the social sciences), I established this program and served as its chair from April, 2012, until May, 2019.
I spent far more time in the first, several years of the CEHS L&L committee working to get it up and running smoothly to the point where I did not need to be in charge to ensure that it continued. I remain a committee member, tasked primarily with helping to review nominees and select award recipients (which occurs once each semester).
* I need to identify the number of CEHS students who have received this award since its inception, and the total amount of money those awardees have received.
