    TITLE: Deaf-Blind Central: Michigan's Training and Resource Project (DB Central). PURPOSE: This project will promote family-centered planning processes and systems change leading to more appropriate, individualized, and systematic instruction for all children and youth who are deaf-blind in the state. METHOD: This project has four main activities: (a) providing training for parents and professionals using a regional training model and onsite coaching for select teams, including professional development through local education agencies; (b) supplementing training with individualized technical assistance provided by phone, e-mail, webcam, and, when needed, onsite consultation visits; (c) disseminating research-based information through a lending library, project Web site, and electronic newsletter in order to raise awareness of the unique needs of people who are deaf-blind, and the research and evidence-based practices that will support them; and (d) engaging in collaborations across all activities conducted by the grant.
