Abstract
The effect of K-conservation on the photodissociation of ketene has been investigated. Rate constants and photofragment excitation (PHOFEX) spectra have been calculated using phase space theory (PST) in a helicity basis. While the effect of K-conservation on rate constants is relatively subtle, PHOFEX spectra with state-selected reactant molecules appear to provide a feasible way to experimentally resolve the question of K-conservation.
