Abstract

This structured academic controversy offers students the opportunity to debate if J.L. Chamberlin was a political or social hero based on his actions in the Battles of Gettysburg. Students use primary and secondary sources to determine their arguments. This lesson was written for students in the 5th, 8th, and 11th grades.
