Abstract
The Thermospray technique has been demonstrated to overcome some of the basic incompatibilities between liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. In reality, the method comprises, not only an interface designed to permit the continuous introduction of liquid into the mass spectrometer, but also a new ionisation technique. The design of this commercially available thermospray interface and source is discussed.
