Abstract
Brutus's famous soliloquy at the start of Act 2 of _Julius Caesar_, seeming to justify his foregone conclusions about his “action” of political assassination, in fact offers us a glimpse of a much more fluid and mobile early modern subject than we normally assume in these early time periods.
