Abstract
Categorizing documentary film has always been difficult, and it has become increasingly so in recent decades as more filmmakers have employed increasingly diverse approaches. Some of these films are postmodern, some are first-person documentaries. But there may be a subgenre of both of these categories: the "auto-fiction" documentary.
