Abstract

Over the past decade, the family policy field has ‘come of age’ blossoming into an important education subject among family studies programs. Despite this progress, a general lack of knowledge remains among course instructors on how to effectively teach family policy content to students. Using qualitative thematic analysis, this study provides the largest examination of family policy course syllabi to date, identifying common methods of teaching through assignments, textbooks, and other means. These findings will lead to discussion of current resources available to family policy instructors and areas of future exploration.
