Comparative Analysis of Young Children’s Prosocial Behaviors in the United States, Turkey, and Poland

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The goal of this research project was to analyze emerging prosocial behaviors of young children in three different countries: the United States, Turkey, and Poland. Researchers from the three countries observed children by taking anecdotal notes and using previously constructed and validated checklists. An analysis of the data collected described which prosocial behaviors were the most or least present and a cross-cultural analysis compared the results and determined there were similar regarding many specific behaviors, but each of the countries showed differences in the most common of the prosocial behaviors exhibited.
