N2 - Power Line Communication (PLC) undertakes most communication tasks in access layer and transport layer of the Smart Internet of Power Consumption Equipments (SIPCE), and plays a crucial role on the facticity, reliability and timeliness of the data transmission via the powerline. This paper introduces the current development status of the PLC as well as some key technologies to be solved, including the basic channel characteristics, modulation techniques based on OFDM, multi-nodes access techniques, sub-netting issues based on real powerline access structure. In addition, based on the architecture and networking mode of the SIPCE, this paper proposes the available routing and addressing strategies.
