Abstract

A complete structural characterization of Gd₄Me₃ (Me = Al, Cu) metallic glasses has been carried out and a similarity in their short-range order has been established. Their characteristics magnetic properties have been found to exhibit a double-transition magnetic behaviour. The correlation between the magnetic properties observed and the actual glassy structure has been clarified.
