Cross cultural studies on development of prosocial skills in young children in the USA, Turkey and Poland

Abstract

The goal of this research project is to analyze emerging prosocial behavior of young children in three different countries: the USA, Turkey and Poland. The researchers from three coutries observed children taking anecdotal notes and using previously constructed and validated checlist they collected data for thirty hours in preschool setting. In analysis of data the researchers described which prosocial behaviors where the most or less present and in cross-cultural analysis compared the results and discussed the differences and similarities in prosocial behavior of children in these countries .
