Abstract

Bone marrow transplantation found its first clinical success in pediatrics. Currently, the term "stem cell transplantation" has gained favor, as the sources of hematopoietic stem cells has significantly diversified with bone marrow, peripheral blood, cord blood, and fetally derived stem cells available for clinical use. This article will review the clinical and laboratory limits of current technology and its application.
