Abstract
Robert Musil's novel Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften operates within the horizon of the early German Romantic conception of "Transzendentalpoesie." In so doing it is able to secure the conditions of its own narrative/epistemic possibility and thus completes the transcendental project the Romantics found incompletable in Kantian transcendental philosophy.
