Abstract

"Writing workshop" has been around for decades, yet we may still wonder whether or not mini-lessons, conferring, and self-assessment really help writers grow. We present evidence from an action-research project demonstrating how writers of different ability levels transfer ideas about author's craft, word choice, and literary devices into their narrative writing and, ultimately, grow as writers.
