Abstract
Early diagnosis of pregnancy is in some instances extremely desirable in patients receiving antipsychotic medication. The authors describe a systematic approach to this problem using conventional pregnancy tests and, when necessary, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) beta subunit assay. Such an approach can yield an accurate early diagnosis in nearly all cases.
