Abstract

Dr. Carrick developed a game that uses a series of Leggo building blocks to demonstrate how complex organic matter can be broken down to yield energy. Students start out with organic molecules (represented by the Leggo building blocks)- they must use associated Leggos that fit with portions of the molecules to break down (dismantle the Leggo shape). With each move, energy yield is tallied- student keep track of the total energy yield for a final score.
