Abstract
The requirement of alumnus reporting of unsafe practises to appropriate authorities by the National Society of Professional Engineers Code of Ethics for Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers Code of Ethics, is discussed. Codes of ethics provide some information to the consuming public about the type of service to expect from those who have agreed to be bound by the code. Codes also provides some guidance to the people agree to be bound by the code. These codes require that an engineer who discover unsafe practises are likely being engaged in on some particular engineering project.
