Abstract

Robert Fulghum’s book proudly proclaimed: All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten. Sage advice to be sure, but in academia, moral and ethical dilemmas are both commonplace and difficult to navigate. Regularly, faculty confront issues of potential plagiarism, health & safety considerations, recusal from review, conflicts of interest, professional duties/obligations, etc. It can be a lot to work through. In this Research Leadership Discussion, Dr. Weindorf is joined by a panel (Ashlyn Jaeger, Stanford University; Jennifer Walton, OLFS; Bob Bienkowski, ORC; Kathy Irwin, Libraries; Kathy Meert, University Pediatricians) to discuss some of the common issues that are worrisome to faculty. A few examples of dilemmas will be presented, along with discussion on how to move through difficult situations successfully.
