Abstract
Dr. Fangye Sun and Dr. Jose Maurtua were invited as the guest concertmaster and guest conductor of the Shannxi Symphony Orchestra after their successful collaboration for the SSO’s Bernstein Centennial concert in Nov. 2018. This time, they were featured in the Shannxi Symphony Orchestra’s China-European Concert Tour. SSO performed the first concert at Xi’an Art Center Symphony Hall, a second concert, which was sold-out, at Tonhalle in Zurich, and a final concert which marked the 62nd Anniversary of the SSO in the Golden Hall of Wien Musikverein. During this concert tour, they also collaborated with two concert soloists, Chinese- American violinist, Bin Huang (Winner of the Paganini International Violin Competition) and Swiss violinist, Elea Nick (Winner of the International Violin Competition Lipinski-Wieniawski).
