Abstract

The use of compressed foam systems in suppressing fires in high-ceiling locations is discussed. The compressed air used for foam generation results in superior quality foam that has substantial injection velocity. It is found that compressed-air-foam technology has good potential for fire suppression not only in aircraft hangers but also in warehouses as its water requirement is very low and it is easy to clean.
