Abstract

Teacher preparation programs are facing greater accountability for producing instructors with the skills needed to effectively meet the many challenges of today’s pK-12 classrooms. Unfortunately, there is no widespread agreement on what those skills are, much less how to teach or assess them. This presentation will establish the need for a well-defined set of pedagogical practices that all teachers should possess, and describe efforts to explicate such practices and their development.
