Abstract
HAPI-Kredi, a very small emerging NGO-based (and faith-affiliated) microfinance institution in rural southwestern Haiti, has undergone much tumult since its creation after the devastating Haitian earthquake of 2010. Created with the aspiration to assist the extremely poor obtain business credit at preferential rates, HAPI-Kredi has been rocked by slow growth, competition, theft, loss, and mission drift. Leadership must decide to continue, suspend, modify, or close operations as of June 2013.
