A definitive diagnosis is reached in approximately 80 % of patients with fever of unknown origin (FUO). In this case report a patient whose fever lasted for 3 months, diagnosed as histiocytosis X (LCH) is presented. LCH is a disease of immunoregulatory dysfunction. Its diagnosis is reached only by pathological examination. LCH cases have a variable clinical presentation. In this article the clinical coarse of the case is presented, the etiology of FUO, the clinical features and diagnostic methods of LCH are discussed.
