Abstract

The study investigated seam efficiency, seam strength and seam elongation of three stitch densities for a premium muslin. The tensile and seam strength were tested on INSTRON. Seam efficiency was calculated in percentages and t-test and Analysis of Variance (anova) were used to test the hypotheses. Findings provided scientific basis for conventional practices in the field. Possibilities for future extension of the work are discussed.
