Abstract
Memorializes Jack Michael (1926–2020). Michael, professor emeritus of Western Michigan University, was a pioneer in the field of behavior analysis and one of its most influential teachers. He was the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Distinguished Teaching Award from the American Psychological Association (APA; 1971) and the Distinguished Service to Behavior Analysis Award from the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI; 2002). Michael helped start ABAI, the largest organization of behavior analysts, in 1974. He was president of ABAI in 1979 and president of Division 25 (Behavior Analysis) of APA in 1983. Michael died November 12, 2020.
