Abstract

When engaged in the writing process, students need timely and specific feedback on their work in order to move forward with substantive revision. Also, we must scaffold instruction in a manner that helps students identify the criteria by which "good" writing is judged. In this 90-minute workshop, participants will be introduced to Writable, a web-based platform for designing, personalizing, and facilitating the writing, review, and revision process. Suitable for teachers in grades 3–12, this session will model best practices in writing pedagogy and invite teachers to create their first assignments and assessments for classroom use
