Abstract

Using Doppler-tuned fast-beam laser spectroscopy the [Formula presented] intercombination interval in [Formula presented] has been measured to be [Formula presented]. The experiment made use of a single-frequency Nd:YAG [Formula presented] laser and a high-finesse optical buildup cavity. The result provides a precision test of modern relativistic and QED atomic theory.
