"Modernist Continuums: Zadie Smith’s NW and the Urban Imaginary"

Abstract

My paper contributes to recent debates on NW by examining the ways in which Smith situates her representative fiction along a modernist continuum constructed around intersecting, competing conceptions of space and time in conversation with postmodernist conceptions of subjectivity.
