Abstract
Rural communities are particularly vulnerable to opioid abuse use disorders due to limited access to effective treatment. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) of opioid addiction remains the gold-standard of care. Rural Health Clinics are well-suited to provide office-based opioid addiction treatment with MAT. Our Speaker, John Lopes, PA-C, will discuss the principles of MAT and how to implement a program in your clinic. In addition to his subject matter expertise, John spent many years working in a Rural Health Clinic in Illinois.
