Abstract

Clinical education is an important component of the academic programs of student physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. This course will provide participants with key updates regarding the organizational entities responsible for clinical education, clinical education terminology and resources for clinical educators. Measuring and mentoring professional behaviors in the clinical environment can be challenging. Strategies for clinical instructors will be discussed for mentoring this important aspect of being a physical therapist. This course will also meet the State of Michigan re-licensure requirements of Pain and Human Trafficking education by updating clinicians about the most recent evidenced based pain interventions and assist the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant and other Healthcare providers, in identifying Human Trafficking and best practice in pain management
