Abstract

We present and critically reflect upon a series of virtual animation workshops organized and executed through video conferencing technology, in full compliance to social distancing. In these workshops participants engaged one another on a virtual grid as if they were side by side in a physical space. By inviting participants to engage in serious play, we connected to one another in a brief but collaborative moment. The impermanence of these moments and the joy of participating, welcomed interactivity and led to the reimagining of video conference calls, independent of its final animated result.
