Abstract

392 university students were asked to rank their perceptions of interior decorators, interior designers, and architects based upon a brief job description. This study showed that interior designers were ranked as more similar to architects than interior decorators which is contrary to previous findings that interior decorators and interior designers were ranked as more similar to each other than to architects during an evaluation of each professional's education and job title.
