Abstract
The purpose of the reported work was to test if stereotypes used by foreigners upheld regarding a traditional outfit through qualitative analysis. The analysis included thirty eight apparel photos from Chowdhary (2011, 263-270) owned by single individual from 1987-1998. Same individual’s collection was chosen to control for the inter-individual preferences. The analysis examined coloration techniques used, design details, draping method, embellishment technique, fabric construction, fiber content and styles.
