Abstract
Objective: To observe the value of prenatal ultrasonic diagnosis and prognosis for fetal persistent right umbilical vein (PRUV). Methods: Ninety-two PRUV fetuses detected with ultrasound were selected, and the combined anomalies and prognosis were analyzed. Results: The incidence of PRUV was 0.16% (92/58 946). Seventy-four fetuses (74/92, 80.43%) were isolated PRUV, among them 49 fetuses had favorable prognosis. Eighteen fetuses (18/92, 19.57%) combined with malformation, among them 6 fetuses had favorable prognosis, 11 underwent induced labour, while 1 dead in uterus. Conclusion: Fetal PRUV can be diagnosed with prenatal ultrasound. Isolated PRUV has favorable prognosis. Prognosis of PRUV fetuses combined with other malformationa should be evaluated according to the severity of malformations and the karyotyping of chromosome.
