Abstract

Faculty book clubs are one way to engage in discussion and promote action with colleagues around topics that impact our classrooms. This paper describes one faculty group’s use of a guest speaker, faculty book club, and student book discussion group to highlight the importance of student engagement on our campus. The book club was a college-wide event that had participants from all six departments within the college. This article provides concrete ideas for implementing similar efforts in the university or college setting.
