Abstract

In this chapter, we describe the implementation of the MEC with hands-on experimentation in ComNetsEmu. We begin with a general introduction of a common MEC scenario for mobile clients and contrast traditional mobility support without SDN and NFV with the MEC approach enabled by both technologies. We subsequently employ the ComNetsEmu to provide an overview of handover latency ranges that mobile users can expect with MECs.
