Abstract

This invited presentation session (Lunch speaker) will discuss the Clarke Historical Library, CMU, its significant Great Lakes manuscripts collections that are of research value to conference attendees in documenting the history and state of the Great Lakes. Major topics include: Feltner’s collection and dives DVD documenting pristine, pre-invasive species wrecks, the Great Lakes, vessels, engineering, lighthouses, ferries, charts, images, digital newspapers and the digitized Soo Locks construction images. How an archivist can maximize your research, preserve and make these collections accessible for future researchers completes the session.<br><br>Channel 9 & 10 News filmed part of my presentation (silently) it was broadcast with an article on their website and an interview of Prof. Jay Martin on Feb. 27, 2020.
