Abstract
On August 12, 2020, Sjoerd Vroonland and Rachael Barron-Duncan met up virtually to discuss his experience designing contemporary home furnishings that connect to past traditions of furniture-making. Over the course of the conversation, Vroonland stressed his desire to use furniture to tell a story and emphasized the importance of sustainability. Vroonland’s respect for artisanal craft links to a more inclusive, team-based approach to mass manufacturing.
